This warm, cheesy Snowman Bread and Onion Dip will be a show-stopping (or perhaps a “snow-stopping”) addition to any holiday gathering! Combine simple ingredients, add a few vegetables for whimsical flair, and you’ll create an appetizer your friends and family will ask for all winter long ... and every winter after.

Ingredients

for 8 "snowmen"

  • 12 frozen dinner rolls (thawed)

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 medium sweet onion, diced

  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar, divided

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 16 small tomato slices

  • 8 small carrot pieces

  • 32 black peppercorns

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

  2. Split 4 thawed dinner rolls in half and roll them into small balls. Place all rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise while you make the dip.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, onion, ¾ cup of white cheddar, salt, and pepper.

  4. Spread the dip into a greased pie dish and sprinkle it with the remaining ¼ cup of cheddar.

  5. Bake the dip for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove the dip from the oven and top it with the dinner rolls, larger ones on the outside and smaller ones on the inside.

  7. Decorate the rolls with tomato slices for the scarf, a small piece of carrot for the nose, and peppercorns for the eyes and buttons. Make sure to push the decorations in hard!

  8. Bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the rolls are fully baked.

  9. Enjoy!
