MAY 2026

May brims with celebrations, reflection, and fresh starts, from honoring

moms and fallen heroes to gearing up for summer moves. In all the

busy-ness, remember to prep your home for summer vacation.

May 5. Cinco de Mayo. This day marks the anniversary of Mexico's victory at the 1862 Battle of Puebla. Celebrate Mexican culture at a local parade, performance, or community event.
May 10. Mother's Day. Today is about the women who lift, love, and guide us. Take a moment to honor the moms who make your heart feel at home.
May 25. Memorial Day. Let's remember those who gave all for our country. Their sacrifices ensure us the freedoms we enjoy today.
National Moving Month. May officially kicks off peak moving season, with nearly half of all U.S. moves happening between May and August. It's time to start packing boxes!
Did You Know? Households with pets outnumber those with children. 71% of U.S. homes include a pet while 39% of U.S. homes have children under 18. One in five homebuyers say their furry friends influence their home choice.* It's no wonder "barkitecture" has emerged as a popular trend for both new construction and home renovations, adding tail-wagging features like hidden food and watering stations, dog wash zones, and sunny catios to pet-loving homes.
One Smart Move for May. Boost Home Security Before Summer Travel. Heading out of town this summer? Don't let your home appear unoccupied. Line up a house- or pet-sitter to bring in your mail, rotate lights, and use your driveway. No sitter? Smart plugs, motion lights, and a doorbell camera can help your place look lived-in while you're away. Just double-check bulbs and batteries before you go.
