Mango Pineapple Sorbet


Summery seasonal fruit in a frozen treat? Yes, please! This delightful, tropical dessert is the perfect way to cool off on a beautiful summer’s day. Plus, it’s quick and easy to make and can be ready for cookouts and barbecues in just one day.

 


 

Servings: 6

INGREDIENTS


1 c. water

1 c. sugar

3 c. mango, diced and divided

1 1/2 c. pineapple, diced

 

PREPARATION

1. Combine water, sugar, and half of the diced mangoes in a pot over medium heat to make the simple syrup. Allow sugar to dissolve, then simmer for 30 minutes and reduce.

2. Pour simple syrup through a strainer and remove excess liquid, then let it cool to room temperature.

3. In a blender, combine simple syrup, pineapple, and the remaining mango.

4. Pour into an 8×8-inch baking dish and freeze for at least 12 hours.

5. Remove from the freezer and let sit for 5-10 minutes before scooping.

6. Serve and enjoy!
