Halloween Candy Cookie Bars

This sweet Halloween treat is sure to be a crowd pleaser, because instead of including some candy, it includes ALL the candy … or at least as many kinds as you dare. Finally, you get to channel your inner Willy Wonka! Do you want crunch? Chocolate? Salty pretzel bits? Caramel? Or just throw everything into your candy cauldron and let the magic happen? You may need to make several batches to decide … or to appease the candy-craving ghouls in your kitchen.

Ingredients
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 c. assorted candy, chopped
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Chop candy into bite-size pieces.
In a large bowl, mix sugars and melted butter. Whisk until batter is smooth.
Mix in eggs and vanilla, then add salt and flour. Stir until completely blended.
Stir in the candy.
Pour batter into greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes.
Allow to cool. Cut into squares for serving.
