Banish winter with some warm weather prep.
The thermometer may still be showing winter, but spring will be here before you know it! Get a jump on these home maintenance tasks now (or as soon as weather allows), and you’ll be ready to relax and enjoy the return of sunshine and warm breezes when Mother Nature sends them our way.
Replace batteries for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when you change your clocks to “spring forward.”
Have your air conditioner inspected and serviced, and replace HVAC filters.
Prepare garden beds for spring planting by removing weeds, loosening compacted soil, and applying organic fertilizer as needed.
Inspect yard tools to see what needs to be repaired or replaced, and service your lawnmower by sharpening blades, cleaning the carburetor, and changing out gasoline.
Check basements and attics for any sign of leaks or mold, and make sure no pests have settled in during the winter.
Declutter your house and garage so you’re ready to do a thorough spring cleaning when it’s warm enough to air out the house.
